The Genesis of the group which became known world wide as the Diamonds occurred when two sets of brothers - both from Toronto in Canada, formed a vocal group and began singing for fun in the early nineteen fifties. In 1952, Mike Douglas and his older brother Larry joined forces with the Kowalski brothers - Tedd and Pete. After enjoying Easter Sunday dinner that year the boys went upstairs to sing a few songs… The Four Lads "Down By The Riverside" The Four Aces "Tell Me Why", and any other hit that they all knew. Tedd and Mike got the bug to sing, both knew Bobby Danko and asked him in, he knew Bill Reed and called him in. With no prior intention, they formed a vocal group and emulated many of the groups who were popular at the time - especially outfits such as "THE FOUR ACES", "THE FOUR LADS" and "THE MILLS BROTHERS". That was the beginnings of the "vocal group" known today as the Diamonds.
